Will's been learning colors and shapes. He loves to "color" with markers and loves painting, too. He is learning something new every day! It's so fun. He has a pretty good grasp on the basic colors. You may not be able to tell what he's saying, but I repeat it.

Although you can't tell by the picture or video, Santa was a hit. I think WM was waiting for directions when he sat on Santa's lap. He was SO excited to see him and when we sat him on his lap, he sat there motionless and expressionless. It reminded me of what he does when he hears music that he likes. I never know if he likes it until it's over and he asks for more! After we picked out a picture and started to leave, WM was very upset. He did NOT want to leave Santa.

Our friends Lauren and Philip were married on St. Simons Island in a small and beautiful wedding. The weather was perfect and made for some great pictures for them. I love this couple and was so thrilled to be there to share their special day. Congratulations you two!

After dinner and time with the Mathews, we headed over to Grandpa and Grandma Strother's for some rough-housing.
...and a haircut! Apparently it takes five of us. One to hold the sucker, one to cut the hair, one to hold the head, one to take the picture, and one to hold my hair back for the picture!

I was just thinking that I needed to go write this down in Will's baby book but thought I'd go ahead and put it on our blog.
The other morning I went to get Will out of his bed and when I realized it was Saturday and we didn't have to be anywhere, I brought him to our room to watch cartoons. "Dos-dos!" he says vibrantly. "Dos-dos? what are you saying? You want your cars?" I ask, puzzled. "Nooooo!" says Will.
If dos is cars, then what is dos-dos? I was very confused. He must've said it ten times before it finally hit me that he was saying "downstairs!" He was ready for breakfast.
I brought him home some Probugs (kefir- the perfect food for Will right now for many reasons; 1. it's made with whole milk 2. it has the good bugs 3. it has fiber 4. it has a no spill spout 5. it tastes like yogurt so he loves it 6. it has all the nutrients required by the body; protein, minerals, and vitamins. 7. and it comes in a fun package. So there you have it! ) today from the store and he tried so hard to tell Jesse that I brought it home for him. He pointed to the package and said "Mommy...uhhhl alsdkdoaidf " with a furrowed brow. He is starting to talk a lot more and is finally putting two words together. Not so Helen Keller-ish anymore. :)

12. Aa-sss- Applesauce or ice. I know, I know.
Forget the security blanket. Will has been taking his little cars and trucks to bed with him. One morning I lifted up his pillow and there lay a pile of cars and trucks :) I need a picture of this. I guess he plays with them and then puts them under his pillow when he's ready to go to sleep. When I go to get him from his bed in the mornings, he has them all in his arms and takes them downstairs with him. Tonight he gathered all of them up in his arms, about five or six, and laid on top of them in his bed. This can't be comfortable, right? I just went in to check on him and took them all out of his little hands and put them aside. He's a boy. That's for sure.

1. Baby (long pause) Deezus- This would be Baby Jesus. He loves this cartoon dvd about Jesus' birth. Complete with an angry King Herrod that we have to fast forward through every time we watch.
2. Baby Doll- self explanatory but don't worry, he loves cars and trucks more!
3. Doss- Cars
4. Dots- Trucks
5. Je-jo- Jello
6. No- We have finally switched from saying "ne!" to "no!"
7. Es ZZzz- Yes please :)
8. ZZZzzz Maw-ee!- Please mommy can I have some [insert any sugar filled treat here].
9. Meen- Amen. And when he prays he squints his eyes sooooo tightly and folds his hands. And then peaks to see if we're finished.
10. Maw-ee-uh- Mommy up or Mommy help. Either way.

Something funny I need to add is his sign for Grandpa Strother. We aren't sure where he came up with it but he points to his cheek when he wants to say "Grandpa." Maybe because Grandpa's cheeks get really big when he plays the bagpipes?
On a side note, tomorrow is a big day. I have a list of 30 things to do before I turn 30. Some big some little. One is to run a marathon. I've got a year and a half. Tomorrow I start training. Giddy up.

Atlantic Station

My parents took me to Atlantic Station to kick off the holiday season. They had carriage rides, train rides, hot chocolate, and a tree lighting ceremony. My friend Riley and I met up and took our dads for a ride on a little train...
I think they really loved it :)

Grandpa and Grandma B Come to Visit

Grandpa and Grandma B (my newest grandma :) came to visit this weekend. Grandpa had a bagpipe competition at Stone Mountain Highland Games. We wrestled a lot and played all weekend. Grandpa and Grandma also brought me a stuffed N*emo! Can you even believe it?

Will's new bedtime ritual:
1. Watch Finding N*emo (Ne-ne) or Cat In The H*at (Ha-tah)
2. Bath
3. Music, music, music!
4. Put in crib
5. Drink of milk
6. ALLLLLL stuffed animals (Puppy, Blue Puppy, Wedge Head, Dragon, Bear, Big Bear, as well as all the little animals on the music box) must have milk, too.
7. ALLLL stuffed animals must get a kiss good night from Mommy and Will.
8. Wraps his long stuffed dragon around his neck and grabs Puppy, Blue Puppy, and Wedge and falls forward in to a corner of his bed and motions for me to put a blanket over his head.
9. One more drink of milk
10. Animals get another drink
11. "Mommy!" and makes kissing noises
12. One more kiss and lights out!
13. Will again wraps his long dragon around his neck and snuggles in with puppies and Wedge. Blanket goes on his head again.
(I tried putting dragon away for the night because I'm a little concerned about him falling asleep with something around his neck! I've been taking dragon out of the crib after he falls asleep. WM was so concerned about where he was. I think we may have to make a special bed for dragon outside of the crib.)

When I told Will we were going to a pumpkin patch he patted his head. Sometimes I call him Pumpkin Head :) We went to Berry Patch Farms, the same place we picked blueberries in August. They also grow Christmas trees!
What a fun day! Will took a hay ride, picked out a tiny pumpkin, helped mom and dad eat fried blueberry and apple pies, rode on a tractor, checked out some farm animals, rode the tractor again, ate some homemade ice cream, and rode the tractor some more. Good times.

The big weekend finally arrived! My dad and his bride, Bonnie were married at a small, beautiful, and elegant ceremony at my aunt's home near Pasadena, CA. The wedding and reception were perfect. I am overwhelmed with joy for them. They are so happy and so in love. I know my dad is taking his role very seriously. I couldn't have dreamed of someone better for my dad than Bonnie! I have been so focused on my Dad and Bonnie I kind of forgot to think about the dynamics of our whole family changing. Bonnie has seven children (including spouses) and four grandchildren (8, 4, 2, and 5 months) We met four of her children and all of her grandchildren in California for the first time.
And the Best Man did not disappoint! He had three packages of Nemo gummy snacks while he stood beside my dad. But he did just that, he stood there by himself. He even picked up the ring bearer's pillow and gave it back to him when he dropped it.
